Compiz is an Open LG compositing manager which provides the customization on Linux operating systems. It has a flexible plug-in system and it is designed to run well on most graphics hardware. Basically is design for open Lg desktops like Ubuntu Linux. This software come with lots of customization facilities. How to use compiz
1- First you need to install CompizConfig Settings Manager from software centre if you are using Ubuntu Linux or you also install by the command.
sudo apt-get install compiz
After that you will get the icon of software in menu like this
2-: Then if you want to add more effects, so you will need to run this command in terminal or bash shell.
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager compiz-plugins-extra
After run this command you will see in the config setting you will get a more awesome effect like cube rotation , fire, water effect, ring switcher etc.
3- Then simply you will be check the check box of effects. And the effect is automatically enable. But one thing is remember that, there is not need to disable Unity plugin and open LG. In the other word you never un-check the unity plugin box and open Lg box. If you do this may be your screen goes Blank.

This software is take a quite RAM in you computer. If you have low hardware configuration computer so you don’t go with this software because it slow down your computer. And It is also compatible with KDE desktops.
Now, If you desktop screen is goes blank at the time of configuration so follow these step to fix it.
How to fix blank screen issue in Compiz
- press the key on you keyboard for open the terminal or shell Ctrl+Alt+t
- Then type ccsm and press enter. After that you will get a configuration window of csm.
- then find unity plugin in search bar and enable them.
- And then also find the OpenLG and then enable them.
- After that your icon and sidebar is comeback on previous position.
Compiz is a highly tweaking tool. May be some computers or laptops hardware is not support this software. But maximum computer support this because we talk about the Linux operating system. And Linux do everything.
